Sunday Musings #3

Today marks the last weekend off I have until November as I am shooting lovely weddings every Saturday until then! That meant I took full advantage and speak most of the time drinking and eating :)  I'm pretty ready for the next few months, there's a whole mixed bag and I'm very excited to work with some great couples. In October I'm headed to Welcome Home workshop by Emma Case which I know is going to do beautiful things for my business.

Alice & Dave's engagement shoot in Regent's Park, London

Even though I love to travel around, the majority of my couples are Bristol based meaning that when it comes to e-shoots I generally stick around this kind of area. Although Alice & Dave are getting hitched in Bristol (planetarium wedding in reception in the aquarium....!) they actually live in London so this time I went up to see them and takes some shots in a different location.

Alternative, relaxed and intimate hand-fasting wedding in Dorset

Elisa and Ryan's intimate church wedding was nothing like I've ever photographed before. They chose a deconsecrated church in a remote part of Dorset for the ceremony, led by non-religious celebrant Sophie ... And I have to say it was one of the most touching services I've heard in a long time; very personal to the couple, to their history and to their life.

SNAP Photography Festival Competition Entry!

When Snap announced they were running a competition to win a place at their 2016 festival I started racking my brain to think of something unique I could do for my entry. They have a range of photography speakers over a couple of days, and it's a fantastic opportunity to learn from the best in the business, and gain inspiration for your photographs. Aside all that, plus hanging out with other wedding photographer, swimming in the river and eating delicious food, I also thought their 'closing party' looked pretty damn fun...you can read more about what they have to offer on their website!

Andrea & Paul's Humanist Handfasting Ceremony at St.George's Hall, Bristol

"Oh Florence, these are lovely. The one of Ben and Matilda made me squeal and tear up at the same time! I'm also baffled by the fact that I did not see you take any of these photos..  It was great seeing the shits before the ceremony, as I wasn't there, but mostly because they honestly give me goose pimples and make me feel like I'm right back there. Thank you again so much. You were so relaxed during the whole day, which was great and you were so on top of everything, which just meant that I didn't have to be. Always a great thing. Lots of our guests commented on how nice you were and how easily you blended into the group, which I can only agree with. Thank you for capturing our day in such a gorgeous way."

Andrea & Paul, July 2015
