The topic on the blog today is something that’s been bugging me all summer long. I’ve written about the positives on unplugged weddings before and I am so happy that they’ve had a huge upturn this year with lots of my couples having one – and even making cool signs to say so!

Read MoreI’m going to open with a cliche here and just say it feels like about five minutes ago I was doing my best of round up for 2018 and yet here I am on the 2nd Jan 2020 (Am I the only one who still feels like it’s a made-up futuristic date?!) attempting to plough though tens of thousands of images to select my absolute favourites.
Making these slideshows is partly about show casing my best work to new couples (obvz) but also it’s a massive reminder to me about a) how far I’ve come as a photographer b) how damn LUCKY I am to meet all these wonderful people and c) that I am actually doing OK as a self employed camera lady bumbling her way through life which quite frankly is how I feel most of the time.

I knew from the moment I met Alex and her lovely daughter Daisy we were going to get on, they didn't want any stuffy posing or formal shots just pure documentary of the happiest day ever. They got married locally at Shrewsbury Art Gallery and had their reception at one of their favourite Shrewsbury restaurants, Lion and Pheasant, parading down the Wyle Cop between the two! They cut out anything they didn't want - like formal photographs, a cake and a first dance. The getting ready in the morning was THE most fun hanging out with Alex, her sisters and of course her boisterous bridesmaids and daughter Daisy. There was bubbly, tears and lots of jumping around with pure excitement.

The beautiful house and gardens made the best backdrop for bridal prep and their reception celebrations. Naomi Jane Photography was shooting alongside me and was with the boys in the morning for their pre-ceremony meal and last minute preparations!
