As I’m SURE you can imagine, I was incredible excited when I got Anna’s email last year asking if I wanted to come to Sweden for their wedding. I’ve been to Sweden before and absolutely loved it (it would totally be the country i’d move to if I wanted to go abroad) so jumped at the chance to see more of it outside of Stockholm. I met Anna & Mike when I photographer her sisters wedding in Shropshire a few years ago which is always my favourite way of people finding me - it means they’ve seen me work in real life and know they 100% want that documentary style.
Anna & Mike chose Aspa Herrgård as it was really close to the private lakeside beach where Anna used to play when she was little, providing such a special and memorable place for them to get married. To make it even more unique her Dad went through the requirements to be able to marry them himself, and one of Anna’s bridesmaids conducted the rest of the ceremony.
The day before was pretty drizzly and we were all super worried about it raining but as you can see the Swedish summer came through for us and the whole day was gorgeous, including the sunset hour where we escaped for 30 minutes in the car to another nearby lake for some couples photos.
