WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHS?
So, here is the final instalment of my (what has turned into!) 12 part wedding planning advice series. I've worked really hard in pulling together all the information, hints and tips I've learnt planning my own wedding and working at so many so fingers crossed you've seen some useful info. I've also been working on turning this into a booklet to post out to my couples that book, and hand out to brides and grooms at wedding fairs, and I'm so happy to say they're *nearly* done. I've worked with a snazzy designer on this so it should look super pretty too...
An apt way to end it would be at the end of your wedding journey, the day is done and you've got your hopefully wonderful photos back. Now what do you do? All photographers are different, but with me you'll receive your edited images on a wooden USB and also on an online gallery for sharing with family and friends, within 4 weeks of the wedding.
What to do with your wedding photographs
First off back them up! If that USB gets lost of broken there may not be a guarantee your photographer can give them out again. If you haven't got a USB and your photographer has given you digital downloads only, still back them up and check how long they'll be available for.
Next thing, get some thank you cards printed. Chances are you had some wonderful guests who gave you thoughtful presents and what better way to thank them than a lovely card through the post showing off your new pictures.
Photographs ALWAYS look better in print than they do on the screen, so get online and get some prints done to put around the house! Also a great excuse to buy a pretty frame too.
To show your photographs off best, I suggest picking your favourites and getting them made into an album. I offer handmade linen albums that are absolutely beautiful heirloom pieces. You can make them yourselves too, or get a photo book done. You can see my link here about the albums I offer. Alice and Dave opted to have their speeches typed up and put in the album along side the images - which looked brilliant!
If Christmas or birthdays are coming up, the wedding photographs can be brilliant presents. If there’s a lovely photo of you and your best friend from the wedding you could get a lovely framed print made, or a mug for your nana with a photo of you both on.
Undoubtedly there’ll be lots of photos online from the wedding from people’s phone etc, but sharing your professional photos online is a lovely way for everyone to see them– tag your friends and make them feel loved! Tagging your photographer will make them love you too… I give my couples a free sharing link where their friends and family can download for free too meaning everyone wins.
But most of all… relive your day through them, show people your favourites, admire them together and remember one of the happiest days of your lives!
“We put one of your albums on our wedding gift list which Ian's uncle kindly bought us and we love. It's on our shelf but we showed it off loads at the beginning and looked at it on our anniversary. And I'm sure Wilfred (our son) and his kids who will look at it in years to come. We recently went to Ian's Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and at one point all the grandchildren were sat on the couches looking at their wedding album and the wedding albums of their 4 children-Ian's parents and uncles etc. I'd love to say we were all cooing over them but mostly we were laughing at what everyone was wearing-70's tastic!
