Morris Hall Shrewsbury Wedding Venue Styled Shoot
Styled Wedding Shoot in Shrewsbury
As I've recently moved to back to Shropshire I am so keen to meet other weddings suppliers in this area, and get accustomed to some of the venues locally too. I liked the Morris Hall immediately because of it's history and it's proximity to my house (10 minutes!) and it seemed like a great place to host my next shoot based around British style.
The Morris Hall Shrewsbury Wedding Venue
The Morris Hall has a countryside village hall feel, but tied in with a huge grand fire place and lots of history behind it. There's a little outside area plus it's right in the centre of Shrewsbury meaning it's so easy to get to and there's plenty of photo opportunities near by.
The brief for this was a quintessential British style with nods to Shrewsbury and Shropshire in particular. All the suppliers are local and we tried to incorporate subtle nods to British colours and traditions.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, organising and being part of styled shoots is more stressful than you can imagine and everyone giving their time and skills to be part of it is fantastic. Our gorgeous 'model's Karl and Amanda are a real life couple - something that really important to me when I do shoots as my photography style is always to make the couple as comfortable and natural as possible.
Shropshire Wedding Suppliers
The gorgeous hair was by Hair By Tabitha MacCurrach-Paine, who I met while at Walcot Hall wedding fair earlier this year. Having recently relocated herself too it was lovely to meet someone else . Her style is complete natural elegance, with such friendly service!
The exquisite dresses are from Dolly Blue Bridal Studios, a truly exception bridal boutique in Shrewsbury. A must-visit for Shropshire brides still looking for the dress! Adele is so lovely and helpful and also stocks shoes and accessories in the shop.
The bouquets and button holes were made by Barney and Victoria, my friends from over in Stokesay at The Flower Garden at Stokesay Court - they grow all their own flowers in their walled garden creating natural, english flowers which look and smell incredible.
For the make up we had Rachel Savine Make Up Artist to thank, an award-winning makeup artist! She created two very different but totally beautiful looks on Amanda, the first one being a more relaxed boho vibe, and the second something slightly more striking with a gorgeous pink lip stick.
Emma from Agatha's Tea Party came over from Stafford and provided the beautiful china and prop styling, this lady has everything you need to create a gorgeous display at your wedding! There was so much more we couldn't fit in the car or have time to photograph but definitely take a look at her website if you 're thinking of having a vintage or whimsical style wedding in Shropshire.
Shropshire Petals kindly supplied us with the dried flower confetti and baskets, their natural dried flowers confetti is the perfect addition to any wedding, they come in all different colour combinations so you can match to your colour theme too! and the best bit is they're biodegradable!
My other business, The Vintage Binding Co., created alternative vintage guestbooks for couples who love literature and old books and of course I had to source something particular for this shoot! I found the beautiful Shropshire Hills book in a charity shop and created this unique wedding guestbook, complete with maps of the local area too.
And last but definitely not least our lovely couple Amanda & Karl for being fantastic models all day, not minding when we ran over, be very patient while we whizzes around getting ready and for helping us create some gorgeous photos.
